Roll bar requirements

Do we have any roll bar requirements for running de's and autocross events, ex: number of points, paint, tube thickness and/or diameter etc.

Roll bars are required for convertible cars without factory roll hoops like the Porsche Boxster or Honda S2000.

Don't forget the broomstick test on non-factory bars.

Also, those "styling bars" available for mustangs and miatas are not really roll bars. If it doesn't tie down to the floorboard and doesn't have angled reinforcements, its dangerous.

That's what I was getting at lol, guess I have to go roll bar shopping before the 13th, any recomendations on a place here in the valley that will fab one for the miata?

For the 13th do you need a roll bar for a Auto - X. For the May event ask De Leon High Performance Machine shop.

Roll bars are recommended for convertibles, but not required- for autocross. Proper Roll bars are required for D.E.s.
