Albert and I will be there to volunteer and assist, Steve.

Looking forward to once again compete against my one and only nemesis, Russell Adams! aggressive.gif

Hopefully, more young drivers participate this year. Last year, several of them were extremely fast.

See y'all this weekend. HYPE!!! dance4.gif

A little birdie who goes by the name of grocery getter just contacted me about this upcoming autocross. You can count me in.
What are the specifics of the event (timeline, classifications, course layout, amount of runs, penalties, etc.)?

I use g-Force R1. It lasts longer than comparable compounds but at the cost of less grip. Make sure your suspension is up to the task though or you'll end up with increased body roll.

hope by years end to have some real rubber mounted at all four corners
Carbeau sets with better safety equipment
rear seat delete
underdrive pulleys
xm3 tune
rear upper control arm
extra set of wheels for practice runs.

Hoh. Getting serious now, aren't we?

Your post reminded me that I have a set of camber plates laying around and are pending installation. I've completely forgotten about them. biggrin.gif

As far as the AE86, since the previous owner had already worked on restoring the stock engine and stock suspension, I am planning on the restoring the exterior and interior of the car

1) Upholster the interior
2) Bucket seats
3) Repaint to Panda scheme
4) Aftermarket steering wheel
5) Aftermarket exhaust system
6) Receive a 20V BlackTop engine for Christmas (hint hint to everyone... anyone...)

With the Impreza, I already completed my suspension setup, so maybe it is high time that I bump up the power to ~400 hp. That is if I still have money left over after the AE86 expenses.

1) CAI
2) 3-inch Invidia downpipe
3) Protune @ CobbTuning (Plano, TX)

ummm, you guys didn't look close enough. that's a lexus ls400 all aluminum 4 cam 32 valve V8 motor. more power + less weight than an altezza engine.

that motor that was in it previously, even with the itb's and $1000 custom header and megasquirt engine mngmt. was a slow slug compared to the new v8. also, the old 20 valve 4 cyl. was an iron block, so this big v8 is only a few more pounds than his 4 cylinder was.

Whoops. You are correct. That's the engine for the Toyota Celsior aka LS400. Genius move, nonetheless.

Anyway, I'll gladly take the old 20V BlackTop (or is that a 20V SilverTop?) engine off his hand. Christmas gift anyone? 150-170 hp is good enough for me. biggrin.gif

What's going on here? Is it Hachi-Roku month or something? It seems to be the hot topic at the moment.

Anyway, mating an Altezza engine to the lightweight AE86. Genius, pure genius!

Speaking of the car, my AE86 is arriving this Friday. YAY! Does anyone know a good paint job shop in the McAllen-Harlingen area? I am planning to get mine repainted to Panda scheme.

I sense a bit of Initial D homage during the video footage of my Impreza and Jomon's AE86. Excellent job.

Use Eurobeat music next time? LOL

electric temp sensor went bad on my truck this morning (and did not start due to the extreme cold)which forced me to take the Stanger to work. Got out late about 8ish and on the way home hit some crap out on the road that went straight into my tire and actually broke of inside. was going to switch to my daily wheel and tire set up,but not going to happen i hit so hard that one of the studs actually bent ever so little that when i removed the lug nut it stripped the stud. sucks won't make it out this sat. will be fixing two cars on my Saturday. on_the_quiet.gif see you in January.

Rene save the G-lock i'll get it in January. have fun guys!

Does that mean I win our little competition by default? unsure.gif

I hope both vehicles get fixed soon, though. to_pick_ones_nose2.gif

True. General HPDE guidelines dictate no loose items inside the vehicle.

But it's all good, Jomon can enjoy the sweet candy-bubblegum like scent while heading to the airport.

People fear what they do not understand. Humans have tendency to judge negatively if the unknown is not within their realm of reality or comfort zone.

The sad thing is most people are ignorant like that.

How's that for insight, stangmeister9? That's an A- in College Psychology talking there.

there are more car shows and racing shows on Discovery HD Net, than Speed, they have the auction shows, vintage racing shows, WRC series, classic car collector, fix a junker and sell it shows, speedway motorcycle racing from Europe, Isle of Man racing series, 10 times better than napscar and pinks tv, on another note, does anyone watch pawn stars on History Channel?, lot's of interesting items, last night they showed a part of a Shelby Cobra kit recovered from a storage locker.

Yeah. Discovery HD kicks ass. It's a given that I watch the WRC in that channel, but I particularly like watching the Wheeler Dealers and Auto Trader.

I'm still trying to get Dr. Guerrero to go bring his GT500 and join in with the Cameron County fun. It's just the HPDE's seem to end up the same day as the UT games. He's a big fan and has season tickets.
