You sure you wanna put a roll cage on the vette? It might impede the "1-hand-on-A-pillar" advanced driving technique some here advocate!

This is why you don't let friends weld you a roll cage ! REAL Roll Cages cost A LOT of MONEY & are welded by PROFESSIONAL fabricators !

What rmj951 said. There are cages that get you through inspection and there are cages that save your life.

Man what a drop, I bet whoever built that evo's cage is going to receive a Christmas card every year of his/her life from the driver and co-driver.

You should come by and try out my new OMPs. They are HTE-R and are very comfortable. Also has a professional roll cage now.

Only way to go. Please don't listen to anybody that says anything different. That "guy that does them roll cages" could cost you your life. Or worse, if you become quadriplegic.

How's everyone been? Me? Well you know, just reviving old discussions. Just figured I share this with anyone considering a roll bar/cage, please have a professional install and/or construct one. There is a whole lot more to it than if the bar will hold the weight if the car flips over. In this case this was the Miata you guys saw me driving about a year and a half ago at Cameron. The car was given to my brother as a present then involved in a head on collision. The driver's head whip lashed and hit the top back of the head rest. Roll bar was positioned far back and high enough that the driver did not smack his head on it during collision. Driver had to have a few staples added to his head, which could have been a whole lot worse if he had smacked the bar with the back of his head.

Originally the roll bar I wanted to buy sat closer to the head rest so I wouldn't have to replace the convertible soft top. After talking to the sales person she said that due to my height (and possibility of taller people getting in the car) she highly recommended this roll bar (which sat further away from the head rest) and buying a new soft top that would let the roll bar fit. Luckily I listened and driver walked away with nothing too too serious.
