i have a set of 18" (275/40) Hoosiers for sale. they are scrubs , but have never been used by me. they are still strapped as they were shipped by UPS.
i paid $450 i'll take 400 or pm with an offer.

i can take them to the event on the 2nd if anyone is interested.

sorry to say that the stang had to go, but i will be returning one day with a more cost effecttive means of running on weekends.

Sorry to hear about the stang. Hope you can come back soon, you are a very good driver, with a lot of potential.
Come to the event and drive your brother's turbo. THAT car will put a smile on your face!

Doc, appreciate the complement and yes that porscheee is already puting a smile on my face that thing is incredible!!!! it not only puts a smile, but at times makes me want to shit my pants, but at the same time it is so planted that you just know its not going to let loose. i can really appreciate the level of engineering that goes into these automobiles. truly needs to be driven to be understood.

We will be taking it to the track on the 2nd and just maybe i can take a lap or 2 or 3...

What the friggin *!#!!* expletive.

Lighter car gives you more tire and brake pad life which limits the hobby investment to some extent. Did the other stang skeered you off??

just was difficult paying on the car, insurance and the up keep. will look into something "paid for" to lessen the financial burden. it's my way of dealing with a sport that i truly love and really find difficult (financially) to maintaine. will take me a little while but i will be back...back to ebay i go!

It does require a relative level of investment that's for sure. Early on it helped that I did some consulting work of which much went to uncle Sam and some was left over to the hobby. Take care of the family first then refocus on another strategy to get back into participating. The friendship and camaraderie remains....

As a fox-bod mustang fan, let me suggest you look at the 99-03 Mustang GT's with the 5-speed...or for a little less weight, get the V-6, 5-speed, lower it, chip it, lighten it, and put dual exhaust on it. No...it wont be stinking fast, but the car will be an inexpensively fun drive on track.

There's one out there I built and sold...wish I still had it...I wish you had it...

Go 50/50 with someone that already has a track car and lessen the investment. Several members did that onthe early years with me being one of those entrepeneural spirits....

Can't go wrong with Miata, a truly fun go kart experience. Driven by a good driver it will bury any car with twice the HP.

Funny you mention that, i think this one has about 1/2 the HP: <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/CQrUMY02hsI?fs=1&...am><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/CQrUMY02hsI?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

There's a similar vid somewhwere on here of frank liberato chasing me in my AC cobra kit with a NA miata when my car was running pretty good.

I think that was my second or third event in that car. I was much slower in the GT3 than my S. It took me about 6 events until I began to see how much faster the 3 was.

I've been passed by a Miata before (one with a big turbo in it), they are awesome little cars. With the right driver in it, they can be a match for almost any other car out there. That's why I had such a good laugh at Crash's comment:

QUOTE
if I run it on your track it'll waste any other unmodified naturally aspirated 4 bangers around, let alone some 100hp miata.

It's not the car, brother. It's the driver. The right driver will lap you while driving a moped.
