Brandon, the comment was not directed at you. You are a true enthusiast, and as such, deserving of my respect, regardless of the car you drive. This is an old argument, always brought up by the same person.

Why do it? CAUSE WE WANT TO. And given that it's fully approved (and even suggested) by PCA, THAT'S IT! END OF DISCUSSION.
You don't like it? THEN DONT TAKE PART OF IT, AND SHUT YOUR TRAP!

Where does your hypersensitive personality see any argument?
No one is disrespecting anyone.
If you or anyone really thinks the DE thing is a real competition then your really deceiving yourselves.
It is about having fun, period.

What I love about time trial is that is a fair record of on-track performance after a day of practice, so the competition stays off-the-track. No one wishes for someone elses poor performance in time trial.

It is a comparison of excellence. That is why the club would encourage it.

Whereas, competition within the actual DE is discouraged...because it is in that portion of the event that competitive or aggressive actions can endanger someone else.

And really - enough with this "choosing to, or not to, drive a Porsche thing." It DOES NOT matter. Porsche ownership is not a requirement for participation in events - never has been. A Pinto is just as welcomed as a Panamera (and may have a better lap time).

Ok, first of all, respect my prior request to stay off my posts.
If you haven't noticed, I do my best to ignore your comments, and carry along as if you didn't exist. Please do the same regarding my comments or posts.

I do agree that no one here is disrespecting anyone.

You don't like timing, then stay off it. Period. It's that simple.
Don't even comment on it, if you don't participate in it.

And nobody said that DE is a competition. Read the PCA position on it:

QUOTE
The purpose of Time Trialing is to give the entrants a clear track with no distractions, to get an impartial lap time, and potentially have rankings among the drivers.

"to have rankings among the drivers" implies a sense of healthy, fun, and safe competition.
It's integral to the very definition of the word "rank":
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/ranking

I don't expect you to "get it". This is my final say on this matter.

I don't like getting timed at the end of the day when I tried, but I don't not like timing.
Twist&Shift works just fine.
I do get more than most of what is said, that is why I wonder why it's so important to be macho all the time.
"It just is", is not a real answer.
I have never told you not to post and your not the boss of me.
It's a 1st Amendment thing.

Dearest friend...please consider the continued escalations of your posts...or we'll soon need to move the thread to the Smack-Down area. I believe that your positions on the point at hand have been clearly shared.

How about (just pick one),
- Lord, I just love motorsports! It is like (fill in the blank).
- How 'bout them Saints?
- What Obama will do for you...
- What else can Toyota screw up?
- Mustangs or Corvettes, which will survive as a hybrid?

As I remember this is the Title of this post: "Monthly Meetings And Event planning, ---------your chance to get involved------"

In life one should first ask "What would Obama do?" scratch_one-s_head.gif in all things in life. sarcastic_hand.gif

or "- What Obama will do for you..." (the WYD version) on_the_quiet2.gif on_the_quiet2.gif to_pick_ones_nose2.gif

Sorry about the distraction...just trying to shake us out of some dialogue ruts.

As for event planning...sadly any Sunday event knocks me out. I am hoping that the Airport gets their business taken care of by the April Event.

What are they doing, anyway?

They are re-sealing the cracks on the runways.

Rene should be able to give first hand info, but he did say they had two months to getter done.
And they will be doing our taxi ways, so? Turn 3's surface? The pond? May be a tunnel under it, think of the sounds.
Russo could stop in side the "tunnel of sounds" blipping his throttle and just chill until the carbon monoxide gets him.
